Celebrating Growth at SCS

System Certification Services has experienced remarkable growth, and we were excited to welcome several new team members who are driving innovation and excellence across the business.

 

• Emma Kennedy, Finance Operations Manager, brings nearly 30 years of financial expertise in the construction industry. Emma’s strategic approach and technical insight are enhancing SCS's financial health, ensuring effective budget management and identifying opportunities for growth.
• Paul Doherty, Technical Manager/Lead Auditor, joins with two decades of experience in management systems and international standards. Paul’s hands-on expertise and auditing skills are helping to develop tailored certification schemes and maintain excellence for our clients.
• Megan Carr, Digitalisation Specialist and Business Analyst, is leading our digital transformation efforts through the InterTrade Ireland Innovation Boost Program. Megan’s analytical and project management skills are enabling us to enhance operational efficiency and adapt to future client needs.
• Jonathan Morgan, Lead Auditor, joined us to enhance our audit capacity and applies his 30 years’ experience in Engineering, Construction, Rail, Aerospace, Waste, Insurance and associated industries, and his extensive wide ranging qualifications and technical knowledge, to help clients gain value from their management system and improvement activities.

 

In addition to growing our team, 2025 marks a significant milestone for SCS - our 10th anniversary in March! This achievement reflects the dedication of our team and the continued trust of our clients. We’re excited to celebrate a decade of delivering quality, collaboration, and growth while looking ahead to an even brighter future.

SCS are proud to acknowledge the appointment of our Director, Tony Duff, to the Board and Management Committee of the ABCB at the last AGM.

 

Tony will represent the collective interests of ABCB and its members in continuing to promote accredited certification and where possible participate and collaborate with UKAS, IAF and EA and other stakeholders to assist in shaping the future of assurance in the UK & Ireland.

Building on the establishment of our organisation’s baseline emissions in 2022, with the aim to improve our environmental effectiveness, we have published our 2024 annual review. As before, all of our operations were considered as in-scope, although we continue to omit our office consumable supplies from our Scope 3 Emission calculations as the supply chain is fragmented and any assumptions would prove unreliable.

Congratulations to Topframe Engineering Ltd. who have recently completed their initial management systems certification against the requirements of ISO9001 (Quality), ISO14001 (Environmental) and ISO45001 (Health & Safety).

 

Based in Castledawson, Topframe Engineering has been providing structural, general and sub-contract metal engineering services for over 25 years and has the capability to manage the whole lifecycle of a project including design, fabrication and erection. Topframe have also a mature certified Factory Production Control system for CE / UKCA Marking of structural steel.

 

“The auditors were personable and made us feel at ease, explaining the process from start to finish and communicating throughout the audit activities. During the process, opportunities were discussed that added real value. Our IMS and Action map is now hosted on our ERP and the checks trigger actions and provide real time visibility on our compliance status, as was really effective in an ahoc, positive, visit from an HSE Inspector. Going through the development process has been good timing as it has been beneficial in designing the new production facility layout and flow.
